This field course is about biodiversity. Biodiversity is a word we hear all the time, but what does it really mean? How do you measure it? How do you compare the biodiversity of different areas? To help you answer these questions we go to some of the most important hotspots of biodiversity on the face of the planet: tropical cloud forest and tropical rainforest. The course begins with some simple exercises in measuring biodiversity but by the end of the course you will be designing, carrying out and presenting your own study.

On this site you will find information on what the course is about, how to prepare to go on the course and what kind of research projects are going on at the sites we visit.
